THE ANIMALS
The animals are a great help.
Magnum, the black cat, assists with the writing process and likes to sit on the keyboard. Ginge was supposed to be an outdoor farm cat but decided to change his life. He particularly likes sitting on people's shoulders and stopping them from working too hard. The cat, Wisteria, in 'The Red House' is based on Ginge.
The much-loved character of Hamlet (in the DI Meg Dalton series) is based on a mixture of all the cats Roz has known, but his appearance was inspired by Roz's friend's beautiful black and white cat, Paws.
Starsky the dog is sadly no longer with us, but was instrumental in starting Roz's writing career. He helped Roz scout out murder locations and occasionally found a body (not human so far.) He has a cameo in 'The Red House'.
